FHP PODCAST | UNHEARD INDIA
In the serene hills of Himachal Pradesh, nestled among pine-covered slopes and whispers of the wind, lives a tale passed down not through books, but from breath to breath — an oral legend preserved by elders like the late Sh. Mangat Ram of Shimla. At 93, his voice, though frail, echoed centuries of faith, mysticism, and divine consequence. This is the untold origin of a devta — a village deity still worshipped today — and how his presence came to be etched in both stone and belief.
In this deeply personal and culturally rich episode of Unheard India, we journey to a remote village in Upper Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, where Prakash opens up about a way of life most have never heard of—where Devtas (local deities) are not just figures of worship, but living, breathing forces guiding every step of existence.
Prakash shares a rare oral history passed down through generations: a tale of how his great-grandfather was granted land by two disease survivors out of a group of twenty, recognizing his righteousness and declaring him the chosen heir. But beyond the inheritance lies a greater truth—how the Devta intervened, healed, protected, and established their family’s legacy.
In this episode of Unheard India, we dive deep into the inspiring work of Dr. Vishveka, an occupational therapist based in Shimla. Dr. Vishveka is the founder of SATTV, a therapy centre dedicated to children with special needs, including those with autism, dyslexia, and other neurodiverse conditions.
Dr. Vishveka's journey began in Gujarat and led her to Shimla, where she opened SATTV to provide much-needed therapy, care, and support to children in the region. SATTV is a place where children of all abilities are nurtured and supported with therapies tailored to their individual needs. Whether it's speech therapy, color therapy, or occupational therapy.
🚨 In this epic episode of Unheard India, we sit down with Ritik Kratzel who skateboard across India solo, starting from the mountain roads of Manali all the way to Kanyakumari, and then pushing it further with a Leh to Manali ride to complete the full stretch with a team!
